RM 056 Felipe Massa Sapphire named “Best Watch of the Year

The movement of the RM 056 has all the features of the RMCC1 caliber, a hand-wound tourbillon movement with hours, minutes, split-seconds chronograph function, power reserve, torque and function indicators.
This movement is not only inspired by the RM008. It takes its most advanced technical characteristics and develops them further, thus achieving an unequalled level of performance, particularly in terms of the precision of time calculation and its long-term reliability.

Thus, the 20% reduction in weight of the RM008 caliber required the creation of more than 400 new parts. The skeletonized plate made of grade 5 titanium, a material with an extreme weight/resistance ratio, allows the gear train to function perfectly while offering great resistance to corrosion.

The fast rotating barrel, the variable inertia balance, the function indicator, the torque indicator and the split-seconds mechanism with improved performance are just a few examples of what Richard Mille’s engineers have been able to do to achieve an incredible watch that pushes the limits of what is possible.
