Japanese designer who spent all his teenage time gazing at his friends\u2019 motorcycles, and wanted to ride a custom motorcycle that was all his own, Chicara Nagata, is now the artist renowned for his extraordinary motorbikes, which are considered as stunning work of art. This graphic designer whose ambition to design and build his own machines was almost ruined when he met a near-fatal bike accident at the age of 16, has dedicated his life to an engine that almost killed him. As, Chicara now uses the details of the vintage engines to figure out a style that matches, and then beautifully finishes and blends it with as many as 500 components he manufactures himself. And, the combination of the classic engine with his distinctively-styled frames, drive trains, steering components and suspension systems give rise to creations that could be described as retro-futuristic or even near-futuristic. Now, Chicara\u2019s latest three artistic machines named Chicara Art ONE, Art THREE, and Art FOUR, are being proudly showcased at the MB&F M.A.D Gallery in Geneva\u2019s quaint Old Town neighborhood.<\/p>\n
Notably, the Chicara motorcycles, the meticulously elaborated mechanical pieces, are the result of Chicara\u2019s lifelong dedication to designing, manufacturing and hand-assembling hundreds of aluminum, steel, copper brass, and chrome components to transform vintage motorcycle engines from 1939 to 1966 (Honda, Harley-Meguro) into singular works of mechanical art, the Chicara Art I, Art III, and Art IV.<\/p>\n
