LEICA M9-P HERMÈS EDITION
$46.400
More informationDetailed description
Since its announcement in September 2009, the M9, equipped with a full-frame sensor of 18 Mpxl without low-pass filter, has evolved. One year later, a limited edition offers a titanium finish. In June 2011, the M9-P is unveiled, with hardened glass on the LCD, without the iconic red dot. Intended for photojournalists who seek discretion.
2012 is the year of the superlative, with two cases housing an M9-P, dressed in smooth leather signed by Hermès, with a hood revisited by the designer Walter De’ Silva, who officiates for the Volkswagen automotive group. The upper part has been rounded off and the back pad and its knob are much less flush. This M9-P is proposed in a box, declined in two versions.
A first kit (sorry, the word seems vulgar compared to the luxury displayed) includes the Leica M9-P Hermes with a Leica Summilux M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH silver anodized and a calf leather strap “Swift”. For €20,000 from mid-May. A “basic” set with only three hundred copies.
For a few euros more (more like tens of thousands of euros, but for some potential buyers, it’s all the same), the set is called Leica M9-P “Hermès/Jean-Louis Dumas”, in tribute to the former president of Hermès, who died in May 2010. The kit houses a Leica Summicron-M 28 mm f/2 ASPH, a Leica Noctilux-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH and a Leica APO-Summicron-M 90 mm f/2 ASPH. All silver anodized. It contains a handmade Hermes photo bag, replica of the first Hermes bag, intended for Leica. Finally, there are two volumes of black and white photos taken by Jean-Louis Dumas with his Leica M. This box set, produced in one hundred copies, will be sold for €40,000 in July.
