The Mercier-Jones hovercraft design is inspired by elements of the Bugatti Veyron, Maserati Gran Turismo, Audi R8 and other sports cars. A low profile hull, aggressive front end, and side thrust ports make this the first truly modern hovercraft design. Marine features, such as side decks and an open cockpit, blend with the automotive inspiration to embody the versatility and function of the hovercraft.

Mercier-Jones is working hard to bring the hovercraft to life. We are designing it, building it, and anxiously waiting to drive it ourselves. With your help, we may just get to bring you your own by summer 2013.
Taking inspiration from the marine, automotive and aerospace industries, the hovercraft will be constructed using lightweight materials including carbon fiber, aluminum, fiberglass and marine plywood. But by using existing technologies and fabrication methods, they aim to price their entry-level hovercraft at under US$20,000.
