Detailed description

Spacecraft used: the Lynx

The Lynx is the spacecraft under development at XCOR Aerospace. Like the SpaceShipTwo of Virgin Galactic, it is designed to take off and land like a plane, horizontally. Designed to be reusable very quickly after a flight (check of the vessel, refueling, etc.), XCOR Aerospace envisages up to 4 flights of about half an hour per day.
Its price is 150 000 dollars.

Propulsion for the Lynx is provided by four XR-5K18 rocket engines, each producing 12.9 kN (2900 lbf) of vacuum thrust with kerosene and liquid oxygen propellants. Detailed design of the engine began in the fall of 2008. The first firing test was performed on December 15, 2008, and testing continues today. The ship is 9 meters long, with a 7.5 meter wingspan.

A nice little feature of your trip: the ship is designed for only 2 people, so you will be seated right next to the pilot, in the cockpit. You will have a front row seat during the whole trip, and you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the curves of our blue planet, directly from the cockpit (see video reconstruction below).
